One Divot's 2013 Golf Auction to Support The Midnight Golf Program in Detroit

My good friend Jim Colton, the man behind Wegoblogger#31 and more importantly, the Hundred Hole Hike, emailed me today with details on a new fundraiser being initiated by his charitable foundation, One Divot.

Here is Jim in his own words:

This morning I'm thrilled to announce the launch of One Divot's first golf auction fundraiser, partnering with The Midnight Golf Program in Detroit. Through teaching of golf and life skills, Midnight Golf helps young adults in Detroit prepare for success in college and beyond. Since 2001, over 1,000 young men and women aged 17-18 have participated in the program.

The auction starts today with the launch of nine great golf-related items. We hope to add additional items over the upcoming days and weeks and will keep the fundraiser going until we have nothing left to give! Through eBay's Giving Works program, 100% of the auction proceeds will go to support Midnight Golf. Additionally, One Divot will match 20% of the total proceeds, up to a donation of $3,000.

For more information on the auction, please click here.

The items set for auction include:

- A threesome of golf with Tom Doak at Crystal Downs in Frankfort, MI
- A threesome of golf at Oakland Hills Country Club (South Course) in Bloomfield Township, MI
- A threesome of golf at The Olympic Club in San Francisco, CA
- A foursome of golf at Ballyneal Golf Club in Holyoke, CO
- A threesome of golf with P.B. Dye at Urbana Country Club in Urbana, OH
- A threesome of golf at The Course at Yale in New Haven, CT
- A threesome of golf at White Manor Country Club in Malvern, PA
- A foursome of golf at Paramount Country Club in New City, NY
- A signed and personalized copy of The Confidential Guide to Golf Courses by Tom Doak

I hope that you will join me in supporting the Midnight Golf Program by bidding on an item, helping spread the word or donating a golf-related item to the auction. Please feel free to contact me at at jim@onedivot.org or David Gamlin at dgamlin@midnightgolf.org if you have any questions.

Together, let's help forge a path of success for these new young men and women in Detroit, as we like to say, One Divot at a time.

Jim
